For starters, here’s a guideline for throwing a classic straight jab:
– Stand in your boxing stance: feet apart, knees slightly bent, fists up.
– Extend your arm as you throw your jab. This should be a quick and relaxed motion.
– While extending your fist out, also rotate your arm (from your shoulder to your fist) so that your palm is facing the ground.
– Remember that as you throw your jab, the rest of your body remains absolutely fixed.
– Pull your arm back and repeat
– Note: all of these steps happen simultaneously
