The deadlift is a great exercise for the entire body, but it is important to practice this move using the correct form. Here’s how to complete a safe and effective deadlift:

  • Stand with your feet shoulder width apart
  • Drop into the position by bending your knees, but keeping the rest of the body strong and engaged
  • Keep steady as you grab the bar, straighten your back and push your chest out
  • In one swift movement, lift the weight up
  • Take a deep breath as you hold it up for a second
  • Gently place the weight down with control
  • Repeat
