The Russian Twist

This is a great exercise to prepare that summer body which focuses on the Side Muscles & Lower Stomach.

Technique:

 

  • Begin by sitting on the floor with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor. Extend your arms out in front of  you. Shoulder-width apart.
  • Lean back so your body is at about a 45-degree angle to the floor.
  • Keeping your lower body still, twist your upper body to the right, then to the left, alternating sides.

 

Safety Tips:

The more you lean back, the harder the exercise becomes, so choose an angel that’s comfortable but still challenges your muscles.
